Ministry To Older People

Jo MacDonald and Ann Stafford head up a team of volunteers who look after the pastoral needs of the retired members of Holy Trinity

There are over 100 people under our care, and our area of ministry is overseen by the Pastoral Care       Co-ordinators

We send Birthday Cards to as many as we can (we can't always identify the date!)

Visits are made, when possible and appropriate, to those who are housebound, in hospital or nursing home

Getaway days (holiday at home) are arranged either during the Easter or Summer holidays (or both).

These are just good fun with a quiz, armchair holiday (sharing a photo holiday experience) a short act of worship, fun exercises and a cooked lunch – these are usually themed: holidays, Easter, wartime memories etc.

Every Wednesday we provide hot drinks and cake and a chance to meet other people and then serve a light lunch in church – this is called Connections, we try to be a signpost to Jesus, by our example of love, care and service to others. These lunches are open to anyone – young or old

We love the Ministry we are involved with at Holy Trinity

It is a joy and a privilege to be able to share the love of Jesus, with some of the older members of the church family
